Be sure to check out What's
in Performing Arts! Students
in the School of Performing Arts, are given the opportunity to
creatively express their unique talents and to learn through a variety of
experiences including music, drama, dance, and media arts technology. Each
of the three grade levels focus on a different aspect of the performing
arts. Those individual aspects are then integrated into the academic
curriculum, which heightens the interest level of the students.

Students
in the fourth grade are introduced to every facet of musical theater
production by Carolyn Barone! Their school year culminates with the
presentation of a full-length Broadway musical.
Fifth graders are taught
sewing and perform various
skits and sketches by
Sheila Scherff.

The
6th grade Performing Arts class, taught by Amy Goforth continues to explore the
art of story telling as they develop and produce a show based on fictional
& non-fictional stories.

These groups are extensions of the regular classroom activities, and meet
throughout the week to perfect their skills. Mr. Robert Barone teaches
music to all primary students at GEMS, conducts the GEMS bands and strings
programs. He also supports both primary and intermediate students in
performing arts with music preparation and basic theater skills for their
productions.
